More is always better as what most everyone says, but in TV series? Then and now, TV series is always a hit. Why can’t we simply allow the Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars or even the gruesome The Walking Dead for example to rest after their first season? People seem to love watching over and over the same television shows that after the season one, here would come the season two and then the three and even more. Based on observation of the telly trends and interviews from friends, here are some of the reasons that I was able to come up with:
1. Most people always want to be thrilled
Now, if we end the show right there, all the excitement and thrill will be over. After a stressful day, most people resort into watching television to get some cardio exercises- from being scared, curious and anxious as to what will happen to their favourite characters.
2. There are always questions at the end that need to be answered
If the ending has been confusing or intriguing, then the queries and notions will forever be left unanswered and invalidated. Well we always want to know what will happen next even after the main character’s death. Isn’t that just funny? Well that’s how curious the mind can get.
3. People learn to love the characters of the show
Oh well, we become a fan. Huge fans actually, especially for us women, who swoon over these hunk male characters that we think are God’s gifts to womankind. Ian Somerhalder for example, can you really get over him? And since we adore them, we can’t help but cry for the show to not stop and boy these producers hear that. They certainly do.
4. Many can relate to the characters and often use them as inspirations
The amazing thing about TV shows is that they use characters that people can easily relate with. These are characters that embody typical people of everyday, only whose lives are being highlighted in the story. A lot of people find hope in the characters and hoping that one day, he or she will also shine above others despite the knots of life.
As for fashion, usually the clothes worn by the artists in the show become a trend and what good way to keep track of these clothing is through having and seeing them in TV every day or every week at least.
5. The producers bite the show’s popularity and want to keep it
Of course, whatever is popular has to stay. This is a common rule in the television industry. If something is really good and is being recognized by a vast number of followers then it must continue. This is for the reason that if something is cut down at the hype of its popularity, followers may get frustrated and may no longer support succeeding projects. Also, when a show is popular, it will attract more sponsors that will make the makers and producers, and even the characters even more rich.
